
KenInvest, in collaboration with the Investment Promotion Bureau of Lishui District, Nanjing, and the Jiangsu Nanjing National Agricultural Hi-tech Zone, hosted a high-level Investment Forum in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province. The forum brought together senior government officials, business leaders, and investors from both Kenya and China to explore opportunities for enhanced investment cooperation.
The event was graced by Mr. Xiu Rixi, Deputy District Mayor of Lishui, who welcomed the Kenyan delegation and reaffirmed Nanjing’s commitment to strengthening economic ties with Kenya. He highlighted Lishui’s leadership in agri-tech, green innovation, and advanced manufacturing, noting significant potential for mutually beneficial collaboration.
John Mwendwa, CEO of the Kenya Investment Authority (KenInvest), presented Kenya’s compelling investment proposition, focusing on priority sectors such as agriculture and agro-processing, manufacturing, clean energy, ICT, logistics, and e-mobility. He emphasized Kenya’s strategic location, pro-business environment, and the country’s growing role as an innovation hub in the region.
A key highlight of the forum was the signing of a collaboration agreement between KenInvest and the Nanjing National Agricultural High-Tech Industry Demonstration Zone. The agreement establishes a framework for cooperation in agricultural innovation, technology transfer, agribusiness investment, and joint research initiatives. This milestone is a strong step toward advancing Kenya’s food security, value addition, and sustainable development goals.
