Invest Kenya history

Kenya Investment Authority (Invest Kenya) is a statutory body established in 2004 under the Investment Promotion Act No. 6 of 2004 within the Ministry of Investments, Trade and Industry (MITI).

Invest Kenya’s primary mandate is to promote and facilitate investments in Kenya by facilitating the implementation of new investment projects, providing aftercare services for both new and existing investments, and organizing local and international investment promotion activities

The Authority’s board of directors comprises 16 members led by a non-executive Chairperson appointed by the President, government representatives from various ministries, and private sector members, along with the Managing Director, who also serves as the Board's Secretary
