How long does it take to register a business in Kenya?
Approximately 1–2 days after payment is made and all required documents, along with duly completed forms, are submitted.
Do I need a local partner to invest in Kenya?
Foreign investors may hold 100% ownership in most sectors, with limited exceptions in regulated industries such as insurance, capital markets, private security, aviation, and mining.
What incentives are offered in Kenya’s economic zones?
Special economic zones (SEZs) and export processing zones (EPZs) provide reduced corporate tax, VAT and duty exemptions, investment deductions, and simplified procedures.

Projects with potential environmental impact are required to undergo an environmental impact assessment (EIA) and obtain approval from the national environment management authority (NEMA). Regular compliance audits and inspections ensure ongoing alignment with environmental regulations.
How are investment disputes resolved?
Disputes may be settled through local or international arbitration, with awards enforceable by Kenyan courts.
What visas are available for investors and expatriates?
