Invest Kenya and Outsourcing Alliance of Kenya Sign Cooperation Agreement to Position Kenya as Africa’s Premier Global Business Services Hub
Nairobi, Kenya– Kenya Investment Authority (Invest Kenya) and the Outsourcing Alliance of Kenya (OAK) have signed a Cooperation Agreement establishing a strategic framework for collaboration aimed at positioning Kenya as Africa’s premier destination for Global Business Services (GBS), encompassing Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) and Information Technology Enabled Services (ITES).
The Agreement reflects a shared commitment to attracting high-value investments into Kenya’s rapidly expanding outsourcing sector by strengthening collaboration in investment promotion, investor facilitation, market intelligence, policy advocacy, skills development, and international branding.
The partnership comes at a time when the Global Business Services industry is among the world’s fastest-growing sectors, presenting Kenya with a significant opportunity to leverage its young, highly skilled workforce, strategic geographic location, competitive business environment, and expanding digital infrastructure to attract global investors.
Through the Agreement, Invest Kenya and OAK will work together to proactively identify, attract, and facilitate investment opportunities within the sector. The two organisations will co-manage a shared investor pipeline to source and convert high-value investment leads while implementing coordinated investment promotion initiatives in key international markets.
The collaboration will also focus on streamlining investor establishment by facilitating access to Special Economic Zones (SEZs), supporting the processing of critical work permits, and executing joint Go-to-Market strategies targeting priority markets in the United States and Europe. In addition, the partners will establish a robust investor aftercare programme designed to support investor retention, expansion, and long-term sector growth.
The Cooperation Agreement further reinforces the importance of public-private collaboration in building a resilient, competitive, and innovation-driven outsourcing ecosystem. By aligning efforts across government and industry, the partnership aims to enhance Kenya’s attractiveness as a preferred destination for Global Business Services investment while supporting digital transformation, creating high-quality employment opportunities, and driving inclusive economic growth.
The partnership supports Kenya’s broader investment agenda of attracting USD 10 billion in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) while advancing the country’s vision of becoming a leading regional hub for technology-enabled services, innovation, and globally competitive business operations.
