Kenya Expands International Investment Offices Model with Second Pilot in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

Kenya has expanded its International Investment Offices Model with the launch of its second pilot office in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, following the inaugural pilot in Hangzhou, China.

The initiative advances Kenya’s strategy to establish dedicated, proactive investment offices in high-value foreign direct investment jurisdictions, bringing investment promotion closer to global capital and prospective investors.

The Jeddah office, once operational, will serve as a direct, localised commercial gateway, strengthening Kenya’s engagement with Saudi Arabian investors and businesses while facilitating investment leads, business connections and market intelligence.

The establishment of the office reflects Kenya’s commitment to adopting a more targeted and decentralised approach to investment promotion, positioning the country closer to international investment decision-makers.

Saudi Arabia presents significant opportunities for investment cooperation, particularly in infrastructure, manufacturing, energy, agriculture, agro-processing, logistics, tourism and technology.

Kenya, in turn, offers investors a strategic entry point into East and Central Africa, supported by its established financial services sector, regional connectivity, skilled human capital, competitive renewable energy mix and access to a growing consumer market.

The International Investment Offices Model is designed to complement the work of Kenya’s diplomatic missions by providing a specialised investment promotion presence in priority markets.

The model is anchored on strengthening investor identification, facilitating business-to-business connections, generating qualified investment leads and supporting prospective investors in navigating opportunities in Kenya.

The Hangzhou pilot in China and the Jeddah pilot in Saudi Arabia represent the initial steps towards a broader international network. Kenya’s long-term ambition is to establish up to 15 International Investment Offices in strategic global investment markets.

Through this initiative, Invest Kenya is strengthening its international investment promotion architecture and positioning Kenya as an accessible, competitive and investment-ready destination.
