Invest Kenya Launches Inaugural Golf Tournament Ahead of KIICO 2026

This morning, Invest Kenya officially launched the inaugural Invest Kenya Golf Tournament (IKGT), which will take place on 27th March 2026 at Muthaiga Golf Club alongside the Kenya International Investment Conference 2026.
The tournament brings together sport, business, diplomacy, and investment promotion, reflecting Kenya’s growing focus on leveraging sports as a platform for economic growth, global partnerships, and national branding.
The launch was attended by PS Abubakar Hassan, Jackson Indakwa representing the Principal Secretary for Sports, Invest Kenya Board Members Florence Wangui and James Muoki, Invest Kenya CEO John Mwendwa, Muthaiga Golf Club Chairperson Dennis Murithi, and members of the wider golf fraternity.
Speaking during the launch, leaders underscored the Government’s commitment to positioning sports as a key economic driver contributing to job creation, enterprise growth, innovation, tourism, and international visibility. The tournament also highlights the importance of collaboration between Government, private sector players, and development partners in advancing Kenya’s investment agenda.
The Stableford-format tournament is expected to attract approximately 260 participants, including local and international corporate players as well as professional golfers from Kenya’s growing golf ecosystem.
