Glovo Launches New Africa Support Hub in Nairobi

Invest Kenya today joined Cabinet Secretary for Investments, Trade & Industry, Lee Kinyanjui, alongside the Spanish Ambassador to Kenya, Mrs. Mercy Wanjau, Ambassador Philip Thigo, and Hon. Allan Chesang, for the launch of Glovo’s new Africa support hub in Nairobi.
The launch marks another major milestone in strengthening Kenya’s position as a leading regional hub for digital commerce, innovation, and technology-enabled investment.
Since entering the Kenyan market six years ago, Glovo has invested over KES 8 billion in the country, generating more than KES 20 billion for Kenyan businesses while supporting over 6,000 vendors, the majority of whom are MSMEs. The company has also contributed significantly to digital job creation through riders, support services, and the broader e-commerce ecosystem.
Kenya now serves as Glovo’s primary innovation hub for Africa, supporting operations across multiple markets on the continent while also expanding support functions to Spain from Nairobi. The company’s reported 40% growth in Kenya reflects the strength and growing potential of the country’s digital economy and quick commerce sector.
The event also highlighted Glovo’s commitment to sustainable mobility through the adoption of electric bikes as part of its operations, alongside its long-term investment ambition of KES 10 billion by 2030.
Invest Kenya welcomed Glovo’s continued expansion and reaffirmed its commitment to supporting investors driving innovation, digital transformation, youth employment, and inclusive economic growth.
Kenya remains open for business, open for innovation, and open for partnerships that deliver shared prosperity.
